Video: Prayer Ceremony at a Himalayan Monastery in Ladakh, India

Three weeks ago in the Himalayas, I was sipping hot butter tea. it was being served by young Buddhist monks who could barely hold onto their giant kettles. I was a guest during a morning prayer ritual at a 15th century Himalayan Monastery. The prayer ceremony flowed much like an alpine river – varying from frenetic motion to mystical calm.

Experiences like this are featured throughout our Ladakh Himalayas volun-tour. Activities, celebrations and events that are hard to find and plan for without local connections and knowledge.
